  1. HOMEWORK – castle defences Today, you have learnt how castles started out as simple wooden buildings called motte and baileys. Over time, these wooden castles were replaced with castles made from stone. As weapons and ways of attacking castles got better and better, castle owners had to think of new ways of defending their castles. Due in this time next week • For each of these 6 castle defences, do some research to find out…. • what they are • how they helped to make a castle stronger/deal with an attack • Write out your research in your book.
