Central Registration Service Central Non-UK Students This cohort includes: All new entrant EU and International students undertaking any level or mode of study (i.e. FT and PT - UG, PGT,PGR) Includes direct entry and exchange students Excludes distance learning students This service will incorporate: Verification of ID and entry qualifications Establishing HQoE (evidence is not required) Registration of students Issue of leaflet incorporating UoP payment terms and exclusion policy Issue of generic slip to enable student to collect Campus Card Stage 1 registration on Student Records (all year round)

Central Registration Service Central UK Students This cohort includes: Full-time, undergraduate Home and Islands students on course year 0 or 1 Includes students on repeat year/unit(s) on course year 0 or 1 Excludes direct entry, distance learning and off-campus students This service will incorporate: Verification of ID Establishing HQoE (evidence is not required) Registration of students Issue of leaflet incorporating UoP payment terms and exclusion policy Issue of registration slip to enable student to collect Campus Card Stage 1 registration on Student Records

Central Registration Service - Dates & Venues Orientation Week - Central Non-UK Students Nuffield Sports Hall; Tue 14 Sep to Fri 17 Sep Tue 14 Sep, 14.00-16.00 and Thu 16 Sep 09.00-12.00, 14.00-16.00 “drop-in” service Wed 15 Sep and Fri 17 Sep, timetabled sessions, 09.00-12.00, 14.00-16.00 Central Registration Week - Central UK and Central Non-UK Students Nuffield Sports Hall; Mon 20 Sep to Thu 23 Sep Mon, 10.00-16.00, timetabled sessions Tue-Wed, 09.00-16.00, timetabled sessions Thu, 09.00-14.00, “drop-in” service Post Orientation and Central Registration Weeks - Central Non-UK Students University House; all year round service Mon-Thu, 10.00-12.00, 14.00-16.00; Fri, 10.00-15.00 “Drop-in” service To avoid long queues forming students must register in allocated session

Central Registration Services Registration of students Collection point for lost registration forms Issue of TLI statements Facilities to pay tuition fees by credit/debit card or set up a direct debit instruction[students wishing to pay fees by cash will need to go to University House] Advice on Student Finance services Collection of Campus Cards Opportunity to subscribe to Gym membership

  9. Registration Form Paper, on-line and Word template versions available On-line form available for new entrant International students and all distance learning and off-campus students at http://www.registryhub.port.ac.uk Forms will be printed on blue paper

  10. Registering Students (face to face) Important Points New students CANNOT register without proof of acceptable ID. Must indicate code on form[Departments can use the code ‘KNS’ - Known Student for students progressing from UG to PG course] All students must complete the criminal conviction field The term-time address field is required. If not known a temporary local address is necessary, but record needs to be updated asap with correct address [give student Change of Address Notification if necessary] Ensure all applicable fields are completed on the registration form by the student / Registration Officer All fields in the Staff Only section need signing off All registering students need to be given a Registration Leaflet. Email/post to DL/off-campus/placement/outgoing exchange students New registered students should be given a Campus Card slip or signed Induction Card

Tuition Fee Settlement Deadlines Tuition fee payment is not part of Central Registration Students can use the Tuition Fee Look-up Facility to confirm their course fee Eligibility for the 2% prompt payment discount stops at the end of the first week of the course start date Deadline for completing a direct debit instruction to benefit from 5 instalments is 17 October Sponsors - RE2 and RE2i forms are due prior to registration or by 24 September, otherwise students will be invoiced to self SLC notification of funding is due by 29 October, otherwise students will be invoiced to self

  13. Qualification Checks • Not part of Central-UK Registration (Home and Islands students) • Undertaken at Central Non-UK Registration (International and EU students)

  14. The HESA Student Record Highest Qualifications on Entry • New coding structure. Must ask student to confirm their highest obtained qualification and the code on registration form • Continuing students need to reconfirm HQoE on registration form - “new” requirement • Codes ‘X04’ - Other qualification not known and ‘X06’ - Not known should not be used as students will be deemed ELQ. Departments will be asked to recode if used • Code identifies if students are ELQ and used in allocations for widening participation (WP) for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and Teaching Enhancement and Student Success (TESS) • Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) • Code used to determine if students are ELQ exempt and widening access and improving provision for disabled students; (codes 4, 5 or 9)
