Estimated delay spread of industrial plant

This article presents a simplified ray tracing simulation for estimating the delay spread in a typical industrial plant. The simulation results show the maximum delay and the root mean square delay spread, suggesting the suitability of S-V type cluster model for outdoor industrial use cases. The article also discusses the importance of sufficient channel bandwidth for optimal performance.

  5. Shusaku Shimada, Yokogawa Co. Estimated result of delay spread -Result of simplified ray tracing maximum delay : 3.3 us rms delay spread : ~ 600 ns -Estimated maximum delay maximum delay : 6.4 us rms delay spread : 1 us -Result suggests S-V type cluster model, typical in indoor WLAN also works in outdoor industrial use case, if the available channel bandwidth is sufficiently wide, e.g. 1~5MHz.
