Back Ground Knowledge • What do YOU think the water cycle is?? • Share and Compare your information with the person next to you
What is the Water Cycle? • The Water Cycle is the journey water takes as it circulates from the land to the sky and back again.
How does the Water Cycle work? • As the water evaporates, water vapors rise and condense into clouds called condensation. The clouds move over the land, and precipitation falls in the form of rain, ice or snow. The water fills streams and rivers, and eventually flows back into the oceans where evaporation starts the process anew
Key Words • Condensation- water vapor becomes liquid • Precipitation- water that falls to the earth(ex. Rain) • Evaporation- Process when liquid changes into gas
Activity Time!! • Draw the Water Cycle • Use the key words: Condensation, Evaporation, Precipitation in your drawing • Make it colorful and neat • Have fun!!
Think about it….. • Why do we need the water cycle and why is it importantforlife on earth?
Nature Artist: Bill Atkinson • Photography begins not in the camera but in the mind and the eye • Spent more than forty years as a photographer • Atkinson's photographs highlight and celebrate the wonders of nature
Water travels in a cycle yes it does, Water travels in a cycle yes it does.It goes up in Evaporation,Forms clouds as Condensation,Comes down as Precipitation, yes it does!YEEE HAWW!
