  1. Welcome to Open House! Mrs. Howard 6thgrade science teacher

  2. Required Materials • Students need a two-pocket folder, a spiral notebook, and lots of pencils for science. • A little bit of organization goes a long way! • Science books are used for homework assignments. Any work not completed during class will become homework as well.

  3. Student Progress • Please get your user name and password for progress book if you already haven’t done so from the office. • I send home a progress sheet every month with current grade average and behavior.

  4. Progress book • Please get your user name and password for progress book if you already haven’t done so from the office. • This will give you an up-to-date picture of your child’s progress. • Also, check on our class web page! Go to www.mapleschools.com and click on Milkovich and then go to Online Classrooms. My on-line classroom will be available starting MONDAY!

  5. Homework • Homework is a tool to reinforce what is being taught in class. • Missed assignments need to be completed!

  6. Making up assignments • Students can get missed assignments they missed due to absences in the absent tray. • Missing assignments can be found on progress book.

  7. Science • Last week we studied we are explored how to do good science (science safety, science in our everyday lives, what does a scientist look like, etc…) • We will are currently studying rocks and minerals!! • To stay current on the topic we are covering please visit the on line classroom

  8. Rewards • In class treats • Good notes/phone calls home • Good grades for hard work
