  2. Step 1 • Make a list of fivefictional characters

  3. Step 2 • Make a list of five real famous people (dead or alive).

  4. Step 3- • Make a list of five controversies

  5. Step 4- • Pick one of your controversies and one of your real famous people and write a speech where he/she expresses his opinions about the controversy. (1/2 page speech) • Stay true to this character. Be sure to use their diction, style, and tone.

  6. Step 5 • Pick one of your fictional characters and write a speech where he/she expresses his opinions about the controversy. Make sure this person has a different opinion than the last person. (1/2 page speech) • Stay true to this character. Be sure to use their diction, style, and tone.

  7. Step 6 • Now write one minute of dialogue where both characters discuss the controversy. • Use conflict, build tension, and end with a climax.
