  1. Unified Access to EISCAT radar data Ingemar Häggström EISCAT Scientific Association Sweden ingemar@eiscat.se

  2. Current Challenges • EISCAT data • divided into levels • completely separate and use different systems for access • EISCAT_3D data • considerably larger data volumes • The proposed pilot • unify the access to data • Tasks • Archive, index and stage data • Data discovery and search • Data visualization • Access control and user authentication

  3. Why EUDAT? • Send level 2 datasets to B2SAFE • Register and replicate according to the data management policy of EISCAT • B2SAFE extracts and associates technical metadata • Send associated level 3 dataset to B2SHARE • Setup the links • B2FIND • givie a set of conditions • return a list of datasets • assess the datasets • reuse the dataset • stage data from B2SAFE to a computing cluster through the use of PID shown by B2FIND • Process and analyse • sends results to B2SHARE

  4. The expected future impact • A functional archive for the EISCAT data • the EUDAT pilot will make a foundation for new discoveries and significant scientific breakthroughs. • A robust system to allow refinements and further developments • Training of the users, with valuable feedback, making the updated system ready for wider use. • Lay a foundation for the development of a data archive for EISCAT_3D.
