  2. What is a Preposition? A part of speech that shows the relationship between a noun/pronoun and some other word in the sentence.

  3. What is a prepositional phrase? A group of words beginning with a preposition and ending with a noun or pronoun.

  4. What is the object of the preposition? Follows the preposition and tells “what?”

  5. For example, in the sentence Timothy sat on the raft. the word on is a preposition, introducing the prepositional phrase on the raft. The object of the preposition is raft.
