  4. Our district is situated in the south- east of Altay Region. It is boarded by Altai Republic to the east and south, Biysky and Soltonsky districts to the north and Sovetsky district- to the west.

  7. The average January temperature is -18 ( the lowest -53), The average July temperature is +18+20 (the highest +40) The annual amount of rainfall is 580 mm.

  8. Our district is the best place where you can have real rest and cure. Its majestic mountains, beautiful rivers and lakes with transparent water and different fish attract a lot of tourists.

  9. Mountains Karagaiskaya Sinyukha –is the highest mountain(894 m); Mountain Eltosh -708 m; Mountain Kyzyryk (604 m) is located near the village of Uzhlep Big Mountain Tes′pa (567m) is situated not far from the village of Souskanikha;

  10. Rivers: The Biya (301 km long, is navigable, it’s width is 160-180 m.) The Katun(688 km long) The Isha (162 km long, sandy beaches in combination with warm water is the perfect place for swimming and sunbathing)

  13. HISTORY

  14. 27.05.1924 -Krasnogorsky (Starobardinsky) district was formed with its centre in the village of Staraya Barda. 10.12.1960 -Starobardinsky district was renamed as Krasnogorsky.

  15. Many- many years agoour land didn’t belong to Russia and was populated by its native tribes, the Altaians. They were proud, energetic and martial people. • That’s why they constantly attacked the first Russian settlers in Siberia. The place of their battles was Picket.

  16. Gradually, the Altaians had to go to mountains and Russian people, day by day, populated new and new lands. And one of them was our district. • The centre of the district, the village of Krasnogorskoye, was founded in 1811 by Russian settlers from Kursk, Smolensk and the Ukraine. • They were the Razmashkins, the Krechetovs, the Filatovs, the Zhdanovs and others.

  17. By the middle of the 19th century the village of Barda became a big volost (small rural district) centre with 450 homesteads. • At the beginning of the 20th century it was renamed to Troitskoye and was the centre of the Troitskaya Volost Biysk Uyesd Tomsk Province. It had 500 homesteads, a church, a hospital and a small school, where two teachers tought their pupils to write and read.

  18. The beginning of the 20th century was the flourishing of the village. It was connected with the name of Aggey Yefimovich Antonov, an outstanding person of our land, who did everything to make his native place a prosperous one.

  19. He organized cooperatives consisted of 1000 members (they produced butter, sunflower and hempoils and many other things). • In 1912, under his guidance, the first hydroelectric station and a mill were built, in 1914- the first People's House with a club and a library.

  20. All children could attend a school. The school year began in October , on the Pocrov’s Day, and ended in March, on the Easter Day.

  21. Our district has been always famous for its people. 1941-1945 • 8515 people went to the front ; 4120 were left on the battlefields forever. Seven people got the high title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, two became full holders of the Order of Glory.

  22. Among the people of the district there are generals, candidates and doctors of Science, heads of all branches of the national economy, the masters of all trades.

  23. The Territory Museum of Krasnogorsky District was founded in 1983 • There are four exhibition halls in the museum: • 1. The Room of the historyof the District before the Great October Social Revolution 1917 • 2. The Room of the history of Krasnogorskoye from 1917 till 1940. • 3. "TheRoom of the military Memory". • 4. " The Hero Labor Room of the District". • The fund of the museum consists of about 4,000 exibitionalunits.

  26. There are 9 village administrations and 35 villages on the territory of the district.

  27. In the districtthere are 25 schools, • child and youth physical fitness club "Victoria", • children's arts school, • kindergartens, • healthcare facilities, • libraries, clubs andthe House of creativity, • a district local history museum etc.

  28. Our district is rich in fertile lands. The main direction of economy is agriculture: production of grain and also meat, milkand honey.

  29. Industry is closely connected with agriculture. They produce butter, hard cheese, cottage cheese and other milk products, bread and bakery products, confectionery, tea and so on.

  30. "Karaguzhinsky cheese factory" was founded in 1917. In 1932 the Shtukke brothers, the Swiss, began to make cheese. Now the products of the plant come to Moscow, Vladivostok, Irkutsk and Krasnoyarsk. They produce from 500 kg to 2 tons of cheese a day. High quality products have got various medals and diplomas at the all-Russian and international exhibitions. For thelast 13 years the team has got 30 medals. "Karaguzhinsky cheese factory"

  31. was founded in 2003, because there is the greatest number of species of medicinal plants in our district. It produces forty-five kinds of herbal tea called Krasnogorsk herbal tea, as well as seventy-two monoteas and 10 kinds of instant drinks based on berry extracts. “Artlife-Flora”(Altay tea company)

  32. LLC "Frunzensky forestry“, one of the stable industries, was founded more than 65 years ago. The company's products are well-known in the region and beyond. It is a reliable partner for many companies in Russia and the CIS, Mongolia, China and even Afghanistan.
