  2. First... Consumption of alcohol outsideof the designated beer garden is not permitted. We want everyone to have a great time at State Sprints. If you plan on drinking, please drink responsibly and make sure it’s done in the designated beer garden. Like all races, our ability to continue hosting this event at Leadbetter is dependant on everyone following the rules…most importantly this one. Mahalo for your cooperation. -SBOCC Second... Clubs are responsible for unloading their own canoes. Coaches – Please make sure your paddlers are present when your canoes are ready to be unloaded.

  4. Friday, July 27th - Leadbetter Beach (Day Before) SBOCC Paddler Pasta Feed (6:00 – 8:00pm) Get into town early and head on down to Leadbetter Beach for SBOCC’s traditional Paddler Pasta Feed. Only $5a plate! True oceanfront dining at it’s finest. Early Bird Shirt Sale -7:00pm Eh, no chance’em….come down the night before and get your 2012 California Outrigger State Sprint Championship t-shirt and sweatshirt. It wouldn’t be a State Sprints without a killer shirt designed by local artist and fellow paddler, Rick Garcia. This years Rick has outdone himself by designing an amazing piece of art for our race shirt. Women’s and Men’s t-shirts will be available in all sizes…until they sell out.

  6. Sunday July 29th - West Beach (Day After) 9thAnnual Fog Chaser Race Get wet one more time in SB before you hit the road. Sign up for the 9thAnnual Fog Chaser Race at West Beach – Next to the Sea Landing. A fun 5 mile short course race. Personal water crafts welcomed – OC1, OC2, Paddleboard, SUPs, Surfski. Registration begins at 9:00am. Race begins at 10:00am. Special Keiki Course – 9:30am start, 1 mile, 14 and under Pre-register ($15) by Mail to: SBOCC c/o Juliet Jones, 6 Harbor Way #217, SB, CA 93109 or Register race day for $20. **Life Jacket and Leash Required** **We reserve the right to restrict who participates** Get info at SBOCC.org or Contact Juliet Jones (jewelsjones@gmail.com) with any questions. Race Details Race Format Information OC-1 events and Keiki divisions, 12&Under and 14&Under will be a 500 meter straight course. The 16&Under and 19&Under will compete on a 1000 meter course with 1 flag turn. Qualifying Heats will be a 1000 meter course with 1 flag turn for Novice, Open, and all Master Divisions. There will be no COED divisions. Novice Finals will race a 1000 meter course with 1 flag turn. Open and Master divisions will race a 2000 meter course with 3 flag turns. Note to Coaches Master divisions race format are subject to change depending on the number of entries, thus a qualifying heat may be treated as a final. Multiple entries are allowed for all junior age groups only, with points awarded to official crews only (i.e. teams that only race once and follow gender/age classifications).

  7. Da Rules... Leadbetter Beach Site Rules and Regulations Paddlers and Coaches: Please be considerate and respectful of the following rules and regulations for our race site. Like all races, our ability to continue hosting this event at Leadbetter is dependant on everyone following the rules…even you OLD BUGGAHS! * NO camping or overnight campers permitted at Leadbetter Beach * NO club setup on the grass area * NO BBQs permitted * NO Dogs on the beach (grass area is ok) * Absolutely NO alcohol permitted except within designated Beer Garden!!! EVENT LAWN OC-6 STAGING OC-1 STAGING NO CANOES IN THIS AREA SWIM BUOY LINE Directions Coming from the North: 101 Freeway to Santa Barbara. Take the Castillo St. exit. Turn right on Castillo St. heading toward the ocean. Turn right on Cabrillo Blvd. Travel approximately .5 miles to Leadbetter Beach parking lot (on left). Coming from the South: 101 Freeway to Santa Barbara. Take Garden St. exit. Turn left on Garden St. Turn right on Cabrillo Blvd., continue along the waterfront for approximately 2 miles to Leadbetter Beach parking lot (on left).

  8. Parking Parking is available for all vehicles (except trailers) at Leadbetter Beach parking lot. Trailer Parking: SB Waterfront Parking Department requires all trailers to park across the street at the SB City College Parking lot after unloading. NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be ticketed if your trailer is left in the Leadbetter Beach parking lot. Parking Fees: $9 per day per parking stall (drivers of canoe trailers should expect to pay for 2-3 stalls for your towing vehicle and trailer as prescribed by the SB Waterfront Parking regulations. Accommodations Make your reservations now as Santa Barbara is a popular destination during this time of year. However given the current market you should be able to find a great deal! Your best option will be to contact Hot Spots (free service) 805-564-1637. They can find you the best availability at the lowest rate. Let her know you are coming up for SBOCC’s State Sprints.   9. Oops! Almost forgot... …Ono Grindz Ariel Catering & Events will be providing broke da mouth grinds for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast: Egg, Potato, Cheese and Salsa Breakfast Burritos. $5 – whole. Additionally, for those looking for lighter fare, SBOCC will also be providing fruits, various baked goods, and coffee for purchase . Lunch: Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich w/ Ranch Beans, Cole Slaw, and Pasta Salad. $8 – Plate. …Live Music at the Beach As always the beach will be rockin’ with great music. We really scored BIG with this year’s band! SBOCC is proud to have The GAWD DAMNED BAND. They will be owning the stage pumping out your favorite rock coversand if we’re lucky some of their originals! …Hot Dogs in the Beer Garden Nothing says “elite athlete” like hot dogs. Save the post race Cliff bars for 9-Man season. SBOCC will be offering up New Belgium’s finest along with delicious dogs. …After Race Party- SAME BAR *NEW LOCATION* Sharkeez’s is now located one block up from previous yrs @ 525 State Street The fun doesn’t stop when we leave the beach. Head on over to the Sharkeezfor the 2012 State Sprints After Party , Sharkeez offers ono grinds, killer tunes, and DA BEST drinks. There are other after parties…but there’s only one State Sprints After Party. ***Get there before 10pm to avoid a cover charge.*** PAU!
