Balmy Beach Canoe Club: Our History • In 1903 the land at the foot of Beech Avenue was donated and a racing canoe club was founded on the site in 1905. • For over 100 years now, the Balmy Beach Canoe Club (BBCC), has served Toronto, the Beach community and its amateur athlete members. • Balmy Beach Canoe Club is a legend . Balmy Beach Canoe Club: Part of Canada’s Athletic History • BBCC’s Roy Nurse won gold and four bronze medals in sprint canoe at the 1924 Paris Olympics. • Jim Mossman, coached Canada’s Olympic Canoe Team four times. • Beach won the overall National Championship five times and many National gold medals in canoe and kayak sprint racing. 2005 Junior Ladies C4 Canadian Champions Sponsorship coordinators:

  5. Balmy Beach Canoe Club: Mission “The Balmy Beach Canoe Club is a non- profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of sprint canoe and kayak racing in the Beach community. The Club’s goal is to provide a safe and enjoyable, recreational and/or competitive environment, for members of all ages and abilities. Programs are designed to develop both the physical and mental strength of individual members while encouraging team and Club spirit.” Sponsorship coordinators:
