  2. Acids and bases have two different faces, Two different personalities,

  3. And you gotta find out what they’re all about, If you want to learn chemistry

  4. Now the first thing you got get straight in you head, Acids turn blue litmus paper to red, Acid

  5. They react with metals with awesome power, They neutralize bases and taste very sour.

  6. Base Bases are different from acids, its true, Bases turn red litmus paper to blue.

  7. They neutralize acids, feel slippery on skin, They taste sorta bitter, and are called alkaline.

  8. Acids and bases have two different faces, Two different personalities,

  9. And you gotta find out what they’re all about, If you want to learn chemistry

  10. Well, there’s even more to this wonderful tale, Something we call a pH scale,

  11. 1015 It numbers from zero up to fourteen, Those are powers of ten, if you know what I mean. 1…..2…..3…..4 10-1….10-2…10-3…10-4 1030 106 10-20

  12. When the pH is 7, then it’s a case, Where the sample is neither an acid nor base.

  13. But less that 7? . . . It’s an acid we say. More than 7? . . . It’s a base all the way.

  14. Acids and bases have two different faces, Two different personalities,

  15. And you gotta find out what they’re all about, If you want to learn chemistry

  16. Acids and bases? . . . now why should you care? ‘Cause acids and bases are everywhere.

  17. You put them on salads, and they get in the rain, They settle your tummy, and clean out your drain.

  18. So the next time you’re sitting under some shade, And you’re sipping a glass full of real lemonade,

  19. You’ll notice the sour taste and think in your head, I bet it turns blue litmus to red.

  20. Acids and bases have two different faces, Two different personalities,

  21. And you gotta find out what they’re all about, If you want to learn chemistry
