  4. Program Name Small Projects Assistance Grants: Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program – Sec. 319, Clean Water Act. Eligible Applicants Subunits of government, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Eligible Activities Installation of best management practices, restoration of water resource water, technical assistance, promotion, and education. Annual Funding Approximately $50,000. Funding Information Applicants must provide a 40% nonfederal cash or in-kind match. Maximum award is generally limited to $15,000. Applications are received and reviewed quarterly. Special Criteria Projects are limited to 2 years. Mandated, regulatory and research activities are not eligible.

  5. Program Name Community Lakes Restoration Assistance Grants: Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program – Sec. 319, Clean Water Act. Eligible Applicants Municipal government units. Eligible Activities Sediment removal, shoreline stabilization, habitat improvement, and watershed protection. Annual Funding Coordinated with Nebraska Environmental Trust applications. Limited to $300,000 per project. Funding Information Applicant must provide a 40% nonfederal cash or in-kind match. Maximum award is limited to $300,000. Proposals are received and reviewed quarterly. Applications are individually invited pending technical review of proposal, site evaluation and availability of funds. Special Criteria Projects are limited to two years. Water body must be under 20 acres and lie within or immediately adjacent to community jurisdictional boundary and provide a high value resource for community recreation. Mandated, regulatory and research activities are not eligible.

  7. Program Name Urban Run-off Management Assistance Grants: Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program – Sec. 319, Clean Water Act. Eligible Applicants Subunits of government. Eligible Activities Installation or retrofitting of best management practices for controlling nonpoint source contaminants in urban run-off. Annual Funding Approximately $150,000. Funding Information Applicants must provide a 40% nonfederal cash or in-kind match. Maximum award is generally limited to $75,000. Proposals are received and reviewed quarterly. Applications are individually invited pending technical review of proposal, site evaluation and availability of funds. Special Criteria Projects are limited to 2 years. Projects must implement appropriate sustainable practices in a limited small area to address specific pollutants of concern. Mandated, regulatory and research activities are not eligible.

  9. Program Name Wellhead Area Management Assistance Grants: Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program – Sec. 319, Clean Water Act. Eligible Applicants Subunits of government, specifically Natural Resource Districts. Eligible Activities Assist communities in implementing and developing Wellhead Protection Area Plans. Annual Funding As needed. Funding Information Applicants must provide a 40% nonfederal cash or in-kind match. Maximum award is negotiated. Applications are individually invited and approved pending technical review of proposal and availability of funds. Special Criteria Projects are limited to 5 years. Projects must address specific wellhead protection areas and associated communities. Mandated, regulatory and research activities are not eligible.

  10. Program Name Competitive Project Grants: Nonpoint Source Pollution Management Program – Sec. 319, Clean Water Act. Eligible Applicants Subunits of government, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Eligible Activities Installation of best management practices, restoration of resource waters, technical assistance, and education. Annual Funding Approximately $2,000,000. Funding Information Applicants must provide a 40% nonfederal cash or in-kind match. Maximum award is generally limited to $300,000. Proposals are received and reviewed annually in September. Applications are individually invited pending technical review, possible site evaluation and availability of funds. Special Criteria Projects are limited to 3 years. Watershed projects must focus primarily on installation of appropriate Best Management Practices to control specific pollutants of concern as identified in a watershed management plan. Education projects must focus on development of state-level infrastructure for delivery of NPS education. Mandated, regulatory and research activities are not eligible.
