  2. Geography • China has the third longest river in the world. • The Great Wall of China was built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi the first emperor of China during the Qin (Ch'in) Dynasty (221 B.C - 206 B.C.).

  3. government The emperor connected and extended the old fortification walls along the north of China that originated about 700 B.C. (over 2500 years ago), forming the Great Wall of China to stop invading barbarians from the north The Emperor standardized Chinese writing, bureaucracy, scholarship, law, currency, weights and measures. He expanded the Chinese empire, built a capital in Xian, a system of roads, and massive fortifications and palaces.

  4. Economy China has most of the people work as farmers. farms are owned by the government.

  5. History The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China in part to protect the Chinese Empire or its prototypical states against intrusions by various nomadic groups or military incursions by various warlike peoples or forces. Several walls were being built as early as the 7th century BC;[3]

  6. Culture we heard Chinese toys in Turkey and India both. China has seen an upswing in interest in what is still considered a foreign holiday. Celebrating Christmas has largely become an occasion for increasingly affluent, young urban Chinese to shop and party and spend the night on the town

  7. Fun facts The earliest-known compass dates from China, during the Han Dynasty (2nd century BC - 2nd century AD). This early compass was made from lodestone, a naturally-magnetic variety of magnetite ore. A spoon-shaped piece of lodestone was placed upon a bronze disk, and the lodestone always pointed north. This early compass was not used for navigation at first; it was used for divination (like FengShui), to determine fortuitous placement of buildings.
