Temples • They made the temples out of stone. • There are six parts to the temple: • The pylan, the courtyard, the hypostyle hall, the second hall, the sanctuary and the sacred lake.
pharoahs • Cleopatra is the most famous women pharoah and that was in 51BC. • Tutankhaman is the most famous pharoah because of his treasure in the valley of the kings. • Menes also known as narmer was the first ever pharoah.
ARt • The egyptian art is 5000 years old. • The egyptians did art to keep history alive. • The types of art they did was sculptures or paintings. • Black paint was made from charcoal. • White was from huntite, calcium carbonate or calcium sulphate. • Yellow from ochre. • Red from heated ochre. • Blue from azurite (copper carbonate) • Green from malachite.
ART • Much time was needed to grind a very hard mineral such as malachite to an extremely fine powder, like dust before it mixed with a gum taken from plants or animal hides, then diluted with water. Egyptian artists knew how to mix two pigments together to create another colour (Red+White=pink) but they also understood the idea of a wash of one colour over a wash of another to create subtle effects.
Gods and godesses • These are some gods and godesses: Anubis, Khnum, Ra-Horakhty, Horus, Bes, Khepri, Nephthysand many more. • Anubis was the god of embalming and also god of the dead. Since Jackals were seen in cemeteries, the ancient egyptians believed that Anubis watched over the dead. • Khnum was a creator god, and a god of innundation.
Gods and godesses • Ra-Horakhty was a combination of the gods Horus and Ra. Horus was a god of the sky and Ra was the god of the sun. Ra-Horakhty was thought of the god of the rising sun. • Bes was the protector of pregnant women, newborn babies and the family. The ancient egyptians also believed that Bes protected them against snake and scorpian bites.
