  1. What Did We Learn in 6th Grade History?

  2. You began by looking at the First Civilizations which developed along fast, flowing Rivers.

  3. Mesopotamian Cultures

  4. Indus Valley

  5. Earliest Chinese Civilization-Divided up into Dynasties

  6. The land of the Egyptians and the Hebrews

  7. These people learned how to farm in dry areas by learning how to manipulate the flooding rivers.“adapting to theirenvironment”

  8. Each of these civilizations had religions. • No gods were involved in: • Buddhism Confucianism

  9. Then there were polytheistic Cultures.

  10. You also looked at the birth of monotheism.Abraham------------------ Moses

  11. One of these Hebrews extended the teachings of monotheism and started a new religion called Christianity

  12. Then you hopped across the Mediterranean to study the Greeks and those that attacked them.Greeks Persians

  13. At the end of the year, you should have studied the Romans.

  14. You were introduced to many conquerors. • Gilgamesh The city of Uruk

  16. Sargon (Akkadans) Many of these guys created “empires”.

  23. And then, Alexander the Great Came along.

  24. And finally the Romans conquered the whole Mediterranean area.
