  1. Glider Project Aerospace Engineering Alexis Wilson November 2012 Intro : AERY software was used to plan and organize all glider dimensions and physical attributes. Glider Poster Dimensions: Process: We flew our gliders in a controlled environment. In a 8’ x 12’ hallway with a rubber band launcher that had a consistent rate of velocity on a 3’ table. The goal for distance was 36’. My glider had a 0° Angle of Attack and was made of Balsa Wood. Test Flights: Conclusion: Over all my Glider was pretty durable, but the vertical stabilizer and Horizontal stabilizer began to break after about 35 test flights and had to be re-glued on. If more time was provided I could’ve worked more on distance than pitch. With the right amount of time I could’ve perfected all the balances equally and flown past 60’. I believe my glider did rather well since it was the only glider that went over 50’. I learned so much about Gliders through this project experience. I didn’t learn everything about gliders but I learned enough to have my glider be extremely successful.
