  1. GLIDER MISSION DEFINITION TEST – JUNE 2012

  2. Mission -Deployment: 21 June 2012 -Recovery: 28 June 2012 (estimated) Minimum Distance to Shore: 10.7nm Estimated Mission Duration: 7 days

  3. Mission Safety Fishing Density Maritime Traffic Fishing Tracks

  4. Sensors Sampling • CTD (conductivity, temperature and pressure) • -Sampling state: diving and climbing (see Notes) • -Sampling frequency: ½ Hz (as fast as possible) • -Sampling depths: [-5, 2000]m • Oxygen • -Sampling state: diving • -Sampling frequency: ½ Hz (as fast as possible) • -Sampling depths: [-5, 300]m (see Notes) • FLNTU (fluorescence and turbidity sensor) • -Sampling state: diving • -Sampling frequency: ½ Hz (as fast as possible) • -Sampling depths: [-5, 300]m (see Notes) • Data storage: DBD (navigation) and EBD (scientific) binary files • Data transmission: download all files once mission finish Notes: -During Test mission will measure the CTD data at diving and climbing 3 days. -During the Test mission the Oxygen and FLNTU sensor will sample up to 1000m depth several times. -Oxygen and FLNTU sensors will be disabled to minimize consumption.

  5. RT Transmission Sensors: -CTD (conductivity, temperature and pressure) Storage state: diving Storage frequency: store all values Storage number of yo’s per file: 5 Storage depths: [-5, 2000]m -Data transmission: Iridium transmission of SBD and TBD files Notes: The data transmission of SBD and TBD files will be done around every 24 h (but not continuously) to verify sensors sampling and behaviour.

  6. Tasks and Calendar Mission preparation: Deployment:

  7. Tasks and Calendar Mission tracking: Recovery:

  8. Tasks and Calendar Emergency plan: Notes: -The vessel SOCIB ZODIAC must be available for deployment and recovery on dates 21 June and 28 June -The vessel SOCIB ZODIAC must be available for an emergency recovery on dates 21 June – 28 June -The vessel SOCIB ZODIAC pilot David Roque must be ready to perform an emergency recovery 21 -28 June. -The vehicle IMEDEA TMOOS Nissan PickUp must be available for 21-28 June. -During mission deployment a CTD cast with SBE19 and Castaways
