  • $419 annual permit
  • For juniors and seniors (60+ credit hours)
  • Lot assignments based on campus address and credit level

Commuter Student Parking

  • $217 annually
  • Lot assignments based on class standing and lot availability


Faculty/staff pay $404 or $615 per year for permits

Resident lot assignments are made at a spot:permit ratio of 1:1

DOTS sold 18,403 permits last year

Permits are issued to freshmen and sophomores as availability allows

Bus Routes

Commuter- begin service as early as 6 a.m. and run as late as 3 a.m.

  • Park and Rides
  • Apartments near campus
  • CP Metro, Silver Spring Metro
  • Shopping centers
  • North and South Campus Connectors

Evening- operate between 5:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

  • Named by color- Blue, Gold, Green Orange, Purple
  • Travel as far as Courtyards, CP Metro, and Graduate Hills

The 124 bus to Shady Grove travels nearly 50 miles round trip

Shuttle-UM runs 24 different bus routes
