  2. Definition • The clear yellowish fluid portion of your blood or lymph in which cells are suspended. If differs from serum in that it contains fibrin and other soluble clotting elements. • Blood plasma that has been sterilized and from which all cells have been removed, used in transfusions. • The protoplasm or cytoplasm of a cell • The fluid portion of milk from which the curd has been separated by coagulation • An electrically neutral state of matter similar to a gas but consisting of positively charged ions with most or all of their detached electrons moving freely about.
