  2. School • China has over 200 million elementary and high school students • China has the world’s most primary schools • All citizens must attend school at least for nine years

  3. Meals / Food • Fortune cookies are not a traditional Chinese custom • It was once considered wrong to use forks or knifes for eating • The main course of Chinese food is rice with meat or vegetables

  4. Clothing • Clothing is referred to as Hanfu • They are three types of traditional clothing in China • Traditional Chinese clothing is warm, loose, and comfortable

  5. History • China is one of the world’s oldest civilizations • The first dynasty to rule China was Xia 2200-1700 B.C. • The latest Chinese dynasty, the Qing ruled from 1644 to 1911

  6. Family / Customs • Birthdays are not normally celebrated • White is the traditional color people wear when some one dies • A man may marry at the age of 22 and a woman at the age of 20

  7. Geography / Climate • China’s area is 9.5 to 9.8 million square kilometers • The highest point is Mt Everest at 8,850 meters • Hainan receives about 200 centimeters of rain each year

  8. Festival • The Boat festival has a history of more than 2,000 • In January or February the most important festival takes place, the Spring festival • The 15 day of the first Lunar month is the Lantern festival

  9. Conclusion • China is a interesting place with different festivals all year long. The food in China is very healthy and fresh. I also learned that education is most important as a young child.
