Join the team at Water World theme park to build water slides using measured angles for marble motion. Explore energy types like potential and kinetic energy through hands-on activities. Collaborate with team members to sketch angles, measure marble distances, and record data for analysis. Discover the connection between energy, motion, and angle degrees while having fun at the water park!

OBJECTIVESMAFS.4.MD.3.6Measure angles in whole-number degrees using a protractor. Sketch angles of specified measure. SC.4.P.10.2Investigate and describe that energy has the ability to cause motion or create change.
Welcome to the Water World! You’ve been hired as a team to build an amazing new slide for the brand new Water World theme park! You and your team will work to build multiple water slides and will decide which angle degree best helps your marble shoot farthest.
Team Jobs Architect: Changes the angle of the slide and drops the marble. Surveyor: Measure how far the marble shoots and gives the information to the Secretary. Forman: Gathers the supplies and places the marble on the slide. Secretary: All members of the team should complete a data chart for your activity.
Supplies Paper Towel roll (cut in half) 1 Marble At least 1 ruler, but you may use more if needed 1 protractor Water Slide data paper for each member of the group
Potential Energy is stored energy. It has the ability to do work, but isn’t yet. Kinetic Energy is energy that is in motion.
