Scholar Success Tutoring Program • Combined enrollment 78 students in Tutoring and Youth Orchestra • Tutoring enrollment: 42 students • Full- time teacher tutors: 4 • Student to teacher ratio: 10 to 1 • Dedicated volunteers: 6 • Dedicated parent volunteers: 4 • Full- time van driver and administrative manager • 90% of children from MLK Charter school

Tutoring and Youth Orchestra Program structure Monday through Thursday: Tutoring: 2 sessions 1st session: 3:30pm-5:30pm 2nd session: 5:00pm-7:00pm Dinner is served to both sessions at 5:00-5:30pm Youth Orchestra: 2 sessions 1st session: 4:00pm-5:00pm 2nd session: 5:00pm- 6:00pm Dinner is served to 2nd session Youth Orchestra at 6:00pm-6:30pm. Rooms used for both programs: Sanctuary Parish Hall Pre-K and Kindergarten classroom Foyer Computer Lab Church and Community Center office area Warehouse

Structure of the Tutoring Program • 3:00pm- Van Driver picks up children from school • 3:00pm-3:30 pm Snack served in Parish Hall • 3:30pm-3:45pm Starting Assembly in Sanctuary • 3:45pm-4:30pm Tutoring on homework • 4:30pm-5:00pm Enrichment (sports outside, arts and crafts, All Souls Newspaper) • 5:00pm-5:30pm Dinner • Van Driver drops off students from 1stsession • Van Driver picks up students for 2nd session and schedule is repeated.

  7. New Additions-Cooking Matters class for Teens

  8. New Additions- Bookfest 2012 • Latter Library on St. Charles Street. • 3 students met Ms. Ruby Bridges. • Gathered 50 free books for students and All Souls Library.

  9. Accomplishments • Times Picayune article and nola.com video article (To be published next week) • Students of the Month • Success Stories: Jalil and Laila

  10. Future plans • Parents University • Offer: small business, computer, GRE, nutrition, cooking, health, and parenting classes to parents of the community • Allow more students into the Tutoring program • Build a Teenage program into the Tutoring program • Keep expanding the Tutoring program to include more opportunities for the students
