  • Benedict Arnold constructed these ships in Whitehall

  • Skene manor, located in Whitehall, is a mountain castle that has been featured on the National Register of Historic Places

  • The town was founded was Philip Skene, and was originally called Skenesborough

  • Skenesborough can be dated back to 1759

  • Whitehall is home to the one-of-a-kind Bridge Theatre

  • Whitehall is located at the southern tip of Lake Champlain

  • The elevation of the town is 125 feet

At the southern end of Lake Champlain, and on the Vermont border, Whitehall was once a mill town and railroad center. The population in the year 2000 was 2667. Latitude is 43.555N and longitude is -73.404W. The closest metropolitan area is Glens Falls. Community festivals include the Summer Festival, held in July.
