  2. Total War • WWI was only fought in Europe, but the fighting area of WWII covered Asia, Northern Africa, Pacific Ocean and Europe [ refer to web-site : world maps ] • Not only soldiers were involved in WWII, but there were also citizens • Many people died in the war

  3. New Weapons • During WWII, many new weapons were invented. • War was not only fought on land and on sea, but also fought in the air. • Bomb, radar, rocket & atomic bomb were used during the WWII • It increased the death

  4. Europe Important War • In 1940, Hitler invaded France and Paris was fallen • Hitler set up a Vichy Government in France to rule the French

  5. Europe Important War • After invading France, the next step of Hitler was to conquer Britain. • Aircrafts widely used, and radar was first used.

  6. Europe Important War • When Hitler was bombing London, British lived under the ground.

  7. Europe Important War • Then in June 1941, Hitler German Army started to invade USSR and did not give any warning to Stalin. • On 7 December 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and led USA to enter the War.

  9. Propaganda War • Besides the battles, both Alliance and Axis used other kind of war—propaganda • It raised the motivation and morale of subjects and soldiers, also weakened the morale of enemies.

  12. The End of War • The turning point of Alliance --- UAS entered the War • 1944, Alliance soldiers landing in Normandy, this day was called “ D-Day ”. • 1945 Alliance troops encircled Berlin • 8 May, 1945 Germany surrendered.
