  3. Community All-Call Hello Community Partners, The California Dictionary Project has provided WCCUSD with enough dictionaries for all third grade students enrolled in our Elementary Title-I schools!  The Dictionary Project’s mission is to provide all 3rd graders in the Bay Area with a dictionary at third grade, the year in which dictionary skills are taught and to support a grade that represents a critical juncture in a child’s education.  Third grade is the year that a student makes the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. We Need Your Help! We are asking our community partners to help us out in our upcoming “Dictionary Day” at which time we will give away the dictionaries to all 3rd graders. You can help us by presenting to one class that day using a fun and engaging script that introduces and reinforces the importance of being able to use a dictionary (see attachment). If you are interested in introducing the dictionaries to a third grade class please register by completing our online RSVP Form or by contacting Susana Coracero at 510-307-4596 or at scoracero@wccusd.net. We anticipate presenting the script will take 20 minutes; however, we seek 1 hour of your time to include preparation and travel time for this purpose.  We will take the lead in identifying a school for you or you can share your school of preference. We look forward to having our students meet their local community member who are working to improve the living conditions of WCCUSD families and students! In partnership,
