CharteredScience Teacher- vision A scheme that everyone can (start to) take part in e.g. through mentoring, membership of ASE A scheme that encompasses all other forms of training and accreditation e.g. MTL and SLC award A scheme that raises the status of the profession in the science and education communities

Chartered Science Teacher- benefits • Promotes high quality science teaching and learning • Recognizes high and improving professional expertise • Reflects best effective practice in science education • Provides evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development, which is renewed annually

Chartered Science Teacher-criteria Masters level qualification or equivalent in pedagogy / education together with an Honours level qualification or equivalent in which there is a minimum of 50% of course content in science A minimum of four years experience of teaching science following QTS or equivalent of which two should involve an appropriate level of responsibility A professional review that provides evidence of impact on science teaching and learning
