  2. How does CG-B base salary compare to the cost of living?If the teachers got raises that matched the cost of living they would follow the blue line. Unfortunately they follow the red line and are losing money every year due to the value of the dollar decreasing. Home

Here’s the numbers • Salary = CGB ranks 10th, 8th, and 11th out of 14 local districts on salary at the starting, middle and end of the salary schedules. • District costs = CGB ranks 12th out of 13 local districts for cost of teacher health care. • Total cost per teacher = CGB ranks 11th, 9th, and 11th out of 13 local districts on total cost at the starting, middle and end of the salary schedules.

Here’s the numbers • Salary = CGB ranks 10th, 8th, and 11th out of 14 local districts on salary at the starting, middle and end of the salary schedules. • In 1993-94 we ranked 2nd, 6th, and 6th out of 10 local districts on salary at the starting, middle and end of the salary schedules. • Of the other 9 districts and 3 cells on the salary schedule (27 total cells), CGB has made gains or increased our positive different on only 5 of them, while 22 have either surpassed us, increased there difference above us, or made gains on us.

Comparables • Health Insurance = Our benefits are better than 3 districts, worse than 4 districts. • Dental = Our benefits are better than 5 districts, same as 2. • Disability = Our benefits are worse than 5 (2 unknown). • ABP = Our benefits are better than 5, worse than 2. • Credit Reimbursement = Our benefits are better than 6, similar to 1.

Comparables • Sick Days = Our benefits are worse than all 7 districts. • Emergency Days = Our benefits are worse than all 7 districts. • Personal Days = Our benefits are better than 2 districts, worse than 4 districts, similar to 1. • Early retirement = All 7 districts have Early Retirement Language. Two are similar to ours, three are better than ours, two are worse than ours.

Per cell per year increase that. • For us to maintain the same difference with Port Washington (~$18,000 at the top cell) who is getting an average of 3.47% per year, we would need to get 4.52% per cell. • For us to catch up with Kohler (~$6000 at the top cell) who is getting an average of 2.37% per year, we would need to get 4.6% per cell.
