  2. Antonio Gaudí Born in Catalonia, Spain in 1852 and died in Barcelona in 1926. Due to rheumatism he was unable to play like other children, so he spent a substantial amount of time studying nature and its design. The investigation of nature at an early age greatly influenced his highly original architectural designs.

  5. Examples of his work. Família Sagrada, is a massive Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, Spain. Construction began in 1882 and construction continues to this day. Família Sagrada (Temple of the Holy Family)

  6. Antonio Gaudi was famous for the beautiful mosaic decoration he used in his building work. Many of which can be seen in famous The Park Güell What is a mosaic? A mosaic consists of a design made of small pieces of coloured stone or glass.

  7. Dragon Fountain is a multicoloured mosaic dragon fountain at the main entrance of Park Güell. Other famous Gaudi mosaics in Park Güell? Sea Serpent is the focal point of the park is the main terrace, surrounded by a long bench in the form of a Sea Serpent. To design the curvature of the bench surface Gaudi used the shape of buttocks left by a naked workman sitting in wet clay.
