  3. Etre His design work showed the elegance andfunof the early 20th century, when luxurygoods and high fashion were becoming big business. He also designed costumes for the theatre, opera, ballet and cinema. On his death in 1990, he was hailed as the "prince of the music hall" and “ a mirror of fashion for 75 years".
