  2. Table of Contents • Title page • Table of contents • What do scientists think the surface of Uranus is like? And what is the atmosphere like on Uranus? • What is the average temperature on Uranus? And what is Uranus’s diameter and circumference • Does it have any moons? What are they like? How many? • How many miles from earth is Uranus? And how many days does it take Uranus to rotate once? • How long does it take Uranus to revolve the sun? And how did Uranus get its name? • Interesting facts about Uranus • Bibliography/Webliography

  3. Surface & Atmosphere • Uranus’s surface is icy so it is made of many ices like water, ammonia, and methane. Uranus is also a gas giant so it is also made up of many gasses. • Uranus’s atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium. It is made of 83% hydrogen, 15% helium, and 2% methane.

  4. Temperature, Diameter, and Circumference • The temperature range on Uranus is -357°f! Uranus is the coldest planet! • The diameter of Uranus is 31,763 miles long! • The circumference of Uranus is 99,786 miles long!

  5. Distance from the Sun • The distance from Uranus to the sun is 1,784,000,000 miles away! I think that’s why Uranus is so cold!

  6. Distance from Earth & Rotation The closest Uranus and Earth get is 1.6 billion miles and the farthest apart they get is 1.98 miles. Uranus takes 17.9 hours to spin once around its axis.

  7. Revolve the sun & How Uranus got its name • Uranus takes 84.3 Earth years to revolve the sun. • Uranus was the lord of the skies and husband of Earth. He was the king of the gods until he was overthrown by his own son Saturn.

  8. Other Interesting Facts • Uranus is the coldest planet in our solar system. The cold planet was bumped onto its side. • Uranus’s summer lasts 42 years. • The gas giant has only been visited once.

  9. Bibliography/Webliography • Erikson, Kristen. "Solar System Exploration." NASA. April 7, 2014. NASA. 7 April, 2014. <NASA gov>. • http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0SO8xExT3pTVUwA7VxXNyoA?p=uranuas&fr=moz35&fr2=piv-web
