Case Studies • Mentor supported project: SPAT • SPAT is a not-for-profit organisation that provides running, fitness and nutritional programmes to homeless and disadvantaged young people aged 16-24, harnessing the benefits of regular fitness as the catalyst to self-transformation. • Sported have provided the member with two mentors (one a marketing and corporate fundraising specialist, and the other a business strategist). • The mentors have supported the group to establish strong links with corporates, and engage corporate sponsors, as well as devise a long term business plan and fundraising strategy which will aid the sustainability of the organisation

Key messages to take away • To access our support you need to become a member of sported… Its free to join • You don’t already need to be delivering sports activities- this can be aspirational • We have expertise and skills in setting up sustainable sports opportunities for young people…we are here to help you • A Member has a chance to access a current Funding Bulletin relevant to your group. • We are not about winning, we are not about competition we are about using sport as a tool to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people…
