  1. August 2012 Ms. Rachel’s Pre-K News • Buses, car riders, and walkers arrive around 9:30 a.m. and leave around 3:35 p.m. each day. • Talk with your child about the importance of meal time.  They are encouraged to try new things and put milk on their tray at breakfast and lunch, it will help them to grow strong and healthy! • If you ever need to change buses or riding arrangements, please get a bus change form from us at school. The process will probably take one week before the change will begin. • We are SO excited for this school year together with your child! If you ever have a question, we are here to help! We are off to a GREAT start this school year!  Already we are learning to recognize our names, how to count to 5, all about our body parts, and our five senses.  Here are a few things you could practice at home with your child: Counting from one to ten Sing the alphabet song Recognize their first name Name some body parts (can sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes”) Identify colors of objects Talk about being kind to friends, and how important it is to use our hands for helping and NOT for hurting others. If you would like to see what your child is doing in our classroom, you are welcome to visit or volunteer your time!  Please send a note to school with your child, and we’ll schedule a time! Thursday Folders will be sent home every Thursday.  Take a look to see what wonderful things your child has done at school that week, or if there are any important papers to read or sign.  We just ask that you return them to school on Monday!
