Needs Assessment • A needs assessment is a study of the goals of the people involved with the assessment. • No institution has goals, only people. • Stakeholders include anyone who has an interest in the activities of the institution. • Learning goals cannot be set without an understanding of the capabilities of stakeholders to meet those goals. English 881

  4. Self • Why do I want to learn about assessment? • What do I hope to know/be able to do/to articulate at the end of the course? • How will I apply my learning when I return to my job/in my search for a new job/when I seek my first job? • Where do I see myself five years from now? English 881
