Brief History • Qing (Ching) Dynasty from 1644 -1911 • Known for times of peace & prosperity • Last dynasty of China • In 1902, the Boxer Rebellion began. • The Boxers killed all of the foreigners in China. • When the rebellion ended the neighboring foreign countries forced China to pay $330 million in fines. • In 1912, China discarded having an emperor and founded the provisional government of the Republic of China.

They were invented in 1920 by a worker in San Francisco. • The number one hobby in China is stamp collecting. • The Chinese invented paper, the compass, gunpowder, and printing.

  9. Chinese are known for: Martial Arts, Badminton, Ping-Pong, Soccer, Chess, golf, Dragon boat racing, foot binding, Chinese New Year (Feb. 18th)
