What really matters in Unit Six? • Chance to review all information learned in second grade social studies: • Famous Georgians • Geography of our state & its effect on our lives • Government leaders & places • Economic concepts (scarcity, opportunity cost, allocating goods & services, barter, currency, making spending & saving choices) • How are our lives different today than people lived in the past? • Who is Jimmy Carter? Why is he important to our state & country? • In addition: *Think about reviewing the Enduring Understandings you used to teach this year. • Provide students with opportunities to make their own connections to what they have learned in social studies.

  3. Facts About President Carter • Born in Plains • Lived in Archery,on his family’sfarm • Served in the Navy • Returned to Plains • Active in local & state government before becoming President • Began Carter Center & won Nobel Peace Prize for its work
