Song 1 Lelo

A war song – to warn about oncoming war and used when the soldiers prepare for battle. The song is nowadays mostly used for entertainment!

Traditionally sung by middle-aged men while holding spears and shields.

Accompaniment with ankle bells which provide the percussion. As the song comes to an end the spears are used to thump the ground to heighten the warning effect.
