Send proof of health/accident insurance to the International Hospitality Center. • Should you have any questions, please contact Barbara Bancel, Director: • (808) 521-3554 (tel) • (808) 538-8046 (fax) • ihc@iolani.org A unique English language program for elementary and middle school students will take place this summer on the campus of Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii, administered by the International Hospitality Center. The four week session will be offered from July 20 – August 16, 2008. The course is designed to meet the needs of beginning and intermediate students ages 5-13, thus allowing the participants to start at any level and make rapid progress according to individual needs. Small class size ensures individualized attention. Classes will be held five days per week from 8:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. (A total of 18 hours of instruction per week). Students must reside with parents or guardians. Program participants will have an opportunity to take part in seven group excursions from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Students will make rapid progress in English language studies. The International Hospitality Center, a private, non-profit, volunteer, community organization will provide one “optional” weekend homestay for students 11-13 years old, upon request. Host families will include the student as a member of the family (not a formal guest) and in family activities. The English Language/IHC Program will include, orientation, pre- and post-testing, counseling, group excursions (such as Sea Life Park, catamaran cruise, Waikiki Zoo, matinee movie, and ice skating) and a Farewell-Graduation Ceremony and Dinner. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants successfully completing the English language program. COST: $1,595.00 USD includes tuition, seven group excursions, lunch five days per week, graduation ceremony and farewell dinner and an optional weekend homestay. Participants must be residing with their natural parents or guardians in Hawaii. Parents are responsible for all international travel expenses to and from Hawaii, travel documents (e.g. Visa, passport, etc.) and health and accident insurance (required of all participants throughout the duration of the program) and transportation to and from school. Host families will provide basic room and board and involvement in family activities for one weekend if the weekend homestay is chosen.
