  3. Learning objectives • Learn some enhancements to 2013 UltraTax • Learn the RootWorks Recommended Tax Process • Understand the Tools Available for you to help with processes

  4. Enhancements • Office Configuration • The majority of the 2013 Enhancement was for multiple office configuration • Affordable Care Act • Forms 8959 and 8960 will calculate automatically. There are adjustment fields if necessary • Home office • Simplified Option or Actual

  5. Enhancements • Mark “Paid” next to Estimates Paid • If you want this, DO NOT Proforma your Estimate Filing Instructions from 2012 • 1041 – Beneficiaries move to the “two heads” icon

  6. Getting Ready for Tax Season - Tips • Move Asset Tab over to speed up data entry • Use the “ImpromtuToDo” (I didn’t make up this term) to mark fields as estimates • Use Client Notes for items you are waiting on • Allows an administrator or other staff to see the notes from UT/FC/PCS without opening te client

  7. Our Tax Process • Receptionist Marks Project Received in Practice CS • Receptionist Prints the Tax Routing Sheet from Practice CS – Attaches to Hard Folder • Scanning Task is Ready to work on • Scanning is done either in SurePrep or FileCabinet and marked on the Routing Sheet

Our Tax Process • Scanning Task is marked Completed • Preparation Step is Ready to Work on • Return is prepared from scanned documents and task is marked complete when finished • Review Task is Ready to work on • Reviewer reviews the return, puts the SP Binder in FC, Prints return to FC, creates Action Items and puts in FC, Enters Bill Amount in Practice, Marks Task Complete

Our Tax Process • E-File Task is Ready to Work on by the Administrator • Verifies All documents are in FC • Uploads documents to NetClient • Emails Invoice to Client with instructions on reviewing, returning 8879 and payment • After 8879 and payment are returned, e-files return • Doesn’t complete Task until Return is Accepted
