A word may be: • Simple (work, sun, good, short, etc.) • Compound (workroom, sunflower, good-looking, etc.) • Derived (worker, sunny, homeless, goodness, etc.)
Derived words are formed by: • Suffixes (e.g. –er, -or, -ism, etc.) • Prefixes (e.g. un-, im-, mis-, etc.)
