The Central Portal of Czech Libraries offers users access to documents in various formats, along with prompt and comprehensive information services. The development concept aims to provide high-quality service in user-friendly libraries or from home, regardless of nationality or handicap. Preparations for 2012-2015 include surveys and the completion of fundamentals by 2015, culminating in full functionality by 2020. The Central Portal of Czech Libraries • Users: • obtain documents in the traditional, printed or digital format • receive prompt and comprehensive information service anywhere and anytime. • Main objective of the Concept of the Development of Libraries in the CR for 2011–2015: „I obtain the high-quality service desired in a beautiful, user-friendly and comfortable library, quickly attended to by the pleasant, qualified, evidently satisfied and motivated staff, or from the comfort of home, regardless of nationality or handicap, at any time, day or night.“

The Central Portal of Czech Libraries • 2012-2015 Preparations: Milestones: • 2013 - Surveys (user needs, expectations and needs of libraries) • 2015 - Completion of fundamentals • 2020 – Full function: • Each library acts as an interface to enter the entire library system. • Libraries involved are integrated in the system of uniform user identities. • Online payments for the library services. • Clients will receive services and documents in one place.
