Jr. Cougar Cheerleading • Chattahoochee Jr. Cougar Cheerleading is a not-for-profit organization created to develop and prepare elementary through middle (3rd-8th grades) school athletes for high school cheerleading.  It is a volunteer organization comprised of parents and community members who govern and organize the program. The Jr. Cougar cheer program supports their corresponding Jr. Cougar football team by grade level. • Website: http://www.hoochcheer.com • Students must live in Chattahoochee High School district. All practices, camps, games and competitions will be in conjunction and accordance to the Fulton County Public School calendar. • Expectations for athletes and parents are listed on the second page in the 2019 tryout packet • Please refer to the Junior Cougar Cheerleading Guidelines in the 2019 tryout packet • Completed 2019 tryout packet and fee are due by Thursday, April 11th • Physical forms - due by June Camp

Expectations Cheerleaders should expect to: • Work hard and be committed throughout the season, make new friends and have fun!! • Be present and on time at all camps, practices, and games • Arrive on time and in the appropriate attire • Cooperate with and respect coaches, teammates, and all other volunteers • Have a positive attitude! • Maintain high academic and moral standards • No gossiping is allowed! • No bullying is tolerated! • Learn the rules of football! *Please refer to Tryout Packet for all cheerleader and parent expectations!

  5. Online Registration • Registration is currently open and will continue through tryouts. Payment must be received by April 15th in order to complete your cheerleader’s registration. • Log on to www.hoochcheer.com to register and pay the registration fee. Jr. Cougar Middle school Cheer Fees • 6-8th Grade Sideline Cheer (due April 15th)………………….......…..$450  • *Includes: T-shirt, Bow, Poms if needed, Cheer camp at CHS, Halftime Choreography camp at Stingrays, Junior Coaches, authorized music, Jr. Cougar Night, Cancer Awareness package, End of Season Banquet and gift, and other activities. • Stingrays Fall Sideline Gym Fees………….................…..$150 • *Due to Jr. Cougars by August 1st • Sideline Uniform (middle school)…….....$200 • You can utilize online google doc to purchase consignment uniforms if available. • Does NOT include white no show socks and white shoes, or practice shorts – these must be purchased separately • Tryout Fee (due April 11th) includes tryout shirt, snacks and administrative fees......................................................................$30 • **Camp Fees are included ** • **There will be a 3% service charge applied at checkout for PayPal payments

ELEMENTARY SIDELINE FEES • 3rd– 5th Sideline (due April 15th) …………………………………$250 • *Includes: Uniform rental, Bow, Jr Cougar Night, Poms, CHS Camp, End of Season Party. • Stingrays Fall Sideline Gym Fees…………………………$105 • *Due to Jr. Cougar Cheer by August 1st • We have lowered the fees by $100 and lowered gym fees by $10 a month, which is an additional $30 in savings to you!! We are thrilled to offer this to our younger grades to get a taste of what fun it is to be a JR COUGAR!!!!!

Sideline Tryouts • Tryout Packet and $30 fee are due by April 11th in order to tryout; t-shirt will be handed out for tryouts • 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will not need to try out for sideline cheer; tryout packet is due by April 15th for registration purposes • Tryouts are for all 6th-8th graders registered for sideline and will be held April 11th – 12thth in the CHS in the cafeteria. • Formal tryouts are held in small groups on April 12thth • Participants will perform a dance, cheer, chant, and jump sequence • Assessments will include skills, attendance, attitude and sportsmanship • **PLEASE NOTE: • Cheerleaders must be registered online, tryout fee paid, and tryout packet signed and received by April 11th in order to participate in tryouts • Physical forms due by camp in June • All Stingray Gym balances must be brought to current status in order for your child to participate.

  9. Uniforms • Separate uniforms for elementary and middle school squads • 6th grade will be required to buy new uniforms this year; 7th & 8th will buy as needed • Additional Mandatory items are purchased for 6th grade and as needed for 7th & 8th • Middle school parents will contact Donna Rhein for questions purchasing uniform pieces • A consignment Google Doc for middle school uniform only will be utilized • Uniform fittings for any cheerleaders needing new Varsity or spirit wear item is scheduled April 23rd 5:30 – 7pm at Hillbrooke Pavilion 5450 N Hillbrooke Trace. • Elementary uniform fitting will be available on April 25th, 4:30-5:30 at the Hillbrooke Pavilion

Summer Camps CHS Mini Cheer Camp (3rd-5th grades) at CHS; June 24th – 28th from 9am -1pm; June 28 9am-12pm performance (6th – 8th grades) at CHS June 24th – 28th from 2pm -5pm; June 28 9am-12pm performance • Camp is being extended to 5 days with early drop off at 8:00 a.m. for elementary campers • Camp fees are included in Jr. Cougar Registration • Early drop off fee 8:00am-9:00am $5 a day Attendance is mandatory for sideline participation Middle School Halftime Choreography Camp Attendance is mandatory for sideline participation Gym: Stingray Allstars August 1st & August 2nd 9:00am – 4:00pm

  11. Practice Schedule • Halftime Practice: Practices to work on halftime routines will begin August 13th & 14thth – the first week of school at Stingrays 3rd, 4th and 5th grade: Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30 pm 6th, 7thand 8th grade: Wednesdays from 4:30 - 6:00 pm

Fall Football GAMES • Attendance at all games is mandatory (please refer to tryout packet for Attendance Policy) • A parent/guardian or designated representative must be at the game with your cheerleader in case of an emergency – they can not be unchaperoned • Games are on Saturdays beginning in late August through October • Game times will be determined by Jr Cougar Football and posted to their web site. Times are always subject to change. • 3rd – 5th will normally be in the mornings • 6th - TBD • 7th - TBD • 8th - TBD

Upcoming events and fundraisers Events: • Waffle House breakfast truck and kick ball game with Jr Cougar Football - TBD • Johns Creek Founders Day parade – December • Team building activities Fundraisers: • Car Wash with Jr Cougar Football - TBD • Taste of Johns Creek at CHS – August 17 *Please contact a Jr Cougar Cheer Board Member if you would like to help! We rely on volunteers to make this program work.

Volunteer Opportunities Coaches • Elementary: TBD • 6th grade: TBD • 7th grade: Patti Montgomery • 8th grade: Leslie Glass Other opportunities include: We need the following positions filled for next school year (2019-2020) • President - Shadow Leslie this season  • President – Shadow Tammy this season  • Treasurer - Shadow Carla this season  Need these positions for this season (2018 – 2019) • Jr. Cougar Night/Elementary Night August 30th • Taste Of Johns Creek – Bake Sale August 17th • Cancer Awareness – September 20th *Please contact a Jr Cougar Cheer Board Member if you would like to help! We rely on volunteers to make this program work.

  15. Communications - • Each Team Parent will set-up a GroupMe as primary contact during the season for game day, competitions, and practice updates • Email will be used as a secondary means of contact for lengthier communications • Jr. Cougar Cheer has Facebook and Instagram accounts to post updates and pictures • Please send all pictures to Elizabeth Fingeret for posting • Visit the HoochCheer.com websites throughout the season for program updates and CHS events
