  5. What does a Level III AHW do? Working under guidance, supervision, in a team Undertake basic health assessments Plan and implement basic health care Cultural broker: between clients & service providers Provide information & support: social & emotional, environmental health Assist in health screening, promotion & education Advocate for the rights & needs of community OHS Apply first aid

  6. What is Competency Based Training & Assessment? Competency based training is about developing skills… . . .applying & demonstrating the skills to the standard expected of the workplace

  7. How is the training delivered? Combination of Learning workshops and On-the-job training

  8. Additional Support As required ENROLMENT Training Agreement & Individual Training Plan Workshops (off the job) Skills & Knowledge Projects Group Work Practice Workplace Activities (on the job) Observation & Demonstration Practice Skills Sign off on skills and competencies as demonstrated on-the-job

  9. A variety of Assessment Methods Oral / written answers to questions Workbooks Demonstration of clinical skills Samples of workplace documents Observation of skills demonstrated in the workplace and then signed off

  10. Clinical Supervision An experienced Aboriginal Health Worker Practice Nurse General Practitioner Workplace Coordinator, Manager or Supervisor
