  3. The main aim and purpose of the Nordic defence Cooperation is to strengthen the participating nations´ national defence, explore common synergies and facilitate efficient common solutions.

  4. NORDEFCO ORGANIZATION

  5. ALCS stated aim “The aim is to achieve financial, technical and/or industrial benefits for all the member countries within the field of acquisition and life cycle support. This will be achieved through transparent and mu-tual exchange of information on planned national procurement in order to identify and exploit pos-sibilities for common development programs, pro-curement and maintenance of existing and emerg-ing capabilities.”

History • In January 2002 Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden initiated their work in the Joint Nordic Cooperation Group, on Environment and Hazardous Materials under NORDAC to use their resources in a joint cooperation to meet the requirements of national and international legislation, various national authorities and other interested parties within the environmental area and specifically in the area of chemicals.

  7. The purpose of the group is • to find substitutions for undesirable chemical products and materials, • to improve utilisation of the resources of the participating nations • to influence the acquisition procedures with environmental considerations • to expand environmental consciousness and • to establish networking between relevant personnel in the four countries.
