  2. India, is located in the south Asia. Its the seventh largest (by area) and is the second-most populated country in the world. It shares its border with Pakistan, Nepal, China, Bhutan and Mynamar. Its currency is Rupees. India

  3. India – Geographical Features • Himalayas to the north and just below it are the northern plains. • To the west lies the Thar Desert. • The Deccan Plateau is in the southern peninsula. • The western Ghats is thickly covered with forests.

  4. Developed Cities of India • Delhi is the Capital of India. • Mumbai: The highest populated City. • Kolkata and Chennai: Highly Developed Cities • Bangalore: Known as the IT capital of India • Other Developing Cities include : Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Chandigarh, etc

  5. Food • India being a large country has a variety of people living in different parts of it. • Each place is famous for its own type of food.

  6. Food: North India • North Indian food includes Indian Bread locally known as Roti, Naan, Pulka etc. • Cottage Cheese (Paneer) is used in many of the dishes. • Fish is popular in coastal areas. • Wheat and rice is grown in the northern Plains where water is available in plenty.

  7. Food South India • South India is famous for Idli(rice cakes), Dosa, and vada. • South Indians mainly diet on rice and Sambar. • Variety of dishes are prepared using rice and spices. • Fish is a popular food in coastal areas. • Gravies which usually have coconut.
