What happened? 2. Who took part in it? 3. When did it happen? How and why did it happen? • What do we need to really find out what happen in the past? Proof • What are the two kinds of sources that we have? Primary and Secondary Sources • What is a Primary source? Primary sources are records made by people who saw or took part in a event.

  2. What is a Secondary Source? Secondary Source is a record written by someone who was not there at the time of the event. • How do we gather proof when there are no written records? We gather proof with the help of archaeologists who study buildings, tools, and other objects. •  What is historical empathy? Understanding how people acted and felt long ago. •  Define Perspective Point of View •  Define Chronology Is the time order of theevents •  What is a timeline? A time line is a diagram that shows the events that took place during a certain period of time in the order in which they happened. •  What is a cause? A cause is any action that makes something happen. • What is an effect in history? An effect is what happens because of an action • Define Analyze When you break something into its parts and look closely at how those parts connect with one another.
