DIE MAUER. The Berlin wall. Nadja B. Amy J. It started out with barbed wire, being put up over night, Dividing east and west Berlin in 1961. Then the construction began!. But it took time and wasn’t until August 13 th 1961 that the border of Berlin was completely sealed off.

  2. It started out with barbed wire, being put up over night, Dividing east and west Berlin in 1961.

  3. Then the construction began!

  4. But it took time and wasn’t until August 13th 1961 that the border of Berlin was completely sealed off.

  5. The wall was heavily guarded. There were always military guards Watching the perimeters of the wall. If anybody got close they Would shoot.

  6. The wall was at least 3 cars high, making it Impossible for people to climb over it. Y

  7. Berlin lived in isolation and devastation (especially the East) During the reign of the wall.

  8. Berlin celebrated As The decision to take Down the wall was Finalized in 1989

  9. Today there are still parts of the Berlin wall in the original location of where it was put up, but there are parts of the wall spread out around Berlin to show its affect on the country.
