  2. Introduction. • Hello my name is Ismael Christian S. Plangca. And this my PowerPoint for Ancient Egypt. l hope that you will like it and find interesting facts.

  3. The Egyptians • The Egyptian civilisation started over 5,000 years ago in (of course) Egypt. With out the River Nile’s help there would not be life in Ancient Egypt. The Egyptian civilisation lasted for more than 3,000 years.

  4. Egyptian homes • The ancient Egyptians made their houses out of sun-bricks. Sun-bricks were made out of mud and straw. • To make the bricks the Egyptians invented brick moulds. • Then as you know they were dried in the sun. The normal average of rooms in a house is 3 or 4. The loaded Egyptians had around about70 rooms!

The harvesting season • January to March: Farmers have to get water with a shaduf out the Nile and into their crops because it’s a hot time. • March: the corn is ready to harvest. • June: Farmers harvests the grapes,dates,olives and vegetables. End of July: They give thanks to the gods for the harvests. • August: The waters are high and most men are sent to work on the Pharaoh's buildings. • November: the waters go down and the farmers are back to work on the fields to plow the soil. • December: The farmers plat crops in the rich soil the waters left.

  7. Hieroglyphics • Hieroglyphics were picture writing invented by the Egyptians. • They were hard and complicated to learn. Children were often beat up if they didn’t learn fast enough. • People called scribes were the ones • that wrote (drew) the hieroglyphics.

  8. War • The Egyptians fought for gold, silver and other valuable items. • Many in the Ancient Egyptian army wore a skirt and sandals. • Egyptian infantry soldiers worked for pay. • There were two men in chariots pulled by horses. • One would steer and the other one would fire arrows.

  9. pyramids • The Pharaoh Khufu wanted a building that would • show his greatness ,so he made plans for his own • plans for his burial and journey in the next life. • He thought of a pyramid at Giza built along the shores of • the river Nile. Khufu is pictured below. • FACT: When the Pharaoh died his slaves • were killed to serve him in the • after-life.

The Egyptian guide to mummification • 1.First wash the deceased with palm oil. • 2.Then take out the poor guy’s brain with a bronze hook. • 3.After that take out all of his organs. • 4.Then dry him out with natron for 1 month and 10 days. • 5.Put oil on him to preserve and soften his/her body. • 6.Wrap him in layers of linen bandages. • 7.Make a mask that looked like the person who died. • 8.Then put him in human-shaped coffin. • And there that’s how you mummify a person.

  11. Tutankhamen’s tomb • ‘tanks tomb was untouched for over 3,000 years. • The man who found it was archaeologist Howard Carter. • He had searched for it for over 6 years. • Tutankhamen died when he was 18 years old.
