  3. Transition Update: Content Inventory The Ask: Programs will be asked to identify and inventory their key content. This content usually: • Speaks about spectrum of core technology research, commercialization, partnerships, contests, etc. undertaken by our programs. • Meets the goals of EERE’s site users by connecting them with the information they're looking for. • Speaks about the goals and successes of EERE's work. • How Will the Data be Used? • All of this data will be used to do an analysis of EERE’s Web content. • …to help inform a strategy document that recommends: • How EERE can reorganize it's content more topically. • How that will benefit and map to our users, their top goals, and tasks. • Strategies for approaching that reorganization, next steps. • To develop an overall list of topics and subtopics, and to develop a content structure using these topics (next step after strategy document is finalized).

  7. Communication Standards Tip As you know, all new and updated navigation is submitted for review and approval before it’s coded on any EERE website. But EERE also has a list of standard navigation labels called the “Library of Navigation Labels,” which you can find on Communication Standards.

  8. Communication Standards Tip Basically, if you have content that can fit under one of these labels, you should use it. That way EERE can ensure that we’re using the exact same words to describe the same content on all of its sites. As a bonus, these labels are quickly and easily approved! You can find it here: www.eere.energy.gov/communicationstandards/cn_lib.html

  9. Wrap Up • Next meeting: December 20
