Think of the government shut down as an example.

Updates & Deadlines • RE: Progress Reports: tutoring mandatory if you are below an 80% • KEY DATES: • ACECES paragraphs for this Unit (see study guide) • Due Wednesday 10/16: How are powers over domestic & foreign policy shared between the legislative & executive branches? • Due Monday 10/21: How do the courts protect and interpret the constitution? • In the News Project: • Final copy due 10/17 • Unit Exam: Wednesday, 10/23

  3. 1ST Quarter In The News Paper • 10% of your 1st Quarter Grade: (if you have a 78 and blow this off you will drop to a 68). • Draft Due October 10th (THIS THURSDAY) • Final due October 17th (Next Thursday) Checklist • Did you pick your topic? Do you understand the rubric? • Have you researched your topic (minimum 3 resources/articles required) • Have you recorded your research using either the google form OR the paper template (provided in class today!) • Have you written an ACES body paragraph answering each assigned question? • Have you written an introduction and conclusion? • Have you made changes based on the comments and suggestions you get from Mr. G-G?

  4. Current Events Discussion: Each Week Remember, your weekly presentation and participation in class discussions on Current Events counts as 5% of your final grade. The papers you will eventually write on controversial issues will count as 10%. We will begin thinking about these papers next week.
